this...is why i should invest in a tripod. i've got shaky hands, and the anti-shake function doesnt help much. i was driving back from foodtown, and i saw the moon hanging really low from the sky. well, it looked like it was hanging really low..so i chucked all my groceries in the kitchen, rushed up to my room to get my camera, and dashed back into the car and drove to bucklands beach. by the time i got there, the moon was starting to disappear. oh wells...

hell week is over :D actually, it wasnt that bad laa...at least we had wed off, so that was like a mid-week break. took some time off and went shopping with baby sis coz i had to get a new pair of shoes. got a really good bargain - $59 for a pair of new balance sneakers. pretty good eh?

i wasn't gonna pay much for 'em sneakers coz they get wet so often, so there's no point paying lots for it. i saw a pair of puma running shoes, and they're about $140..they're really nice! might get that pair to go up to the gym.....when i get my lazy arse around to go to the gym that is..

so, what's been going on with my life? nothing. been living in my room for the past few days due to assignments and work, and my room's back to its messy state again..and len saw it *embarrassed* so i'll tidy it back later..and sort out all my notes and put them back where they belong.

oh, thank you christine darling for making me calm down just before my test! i was about to break down in tears...the traffic was absolutely horrible!!!! i kept missing parking spots...i saw this empty spot along princes street, but then this guy went to stand there to 'reserve' for his friend. damn annoying ok! and he had a smirk on his face saying "HAAA! you dont have a park! NANENANEBUBU!"

but eventually, i went down to the secret place, and found a spot there...then ran all the way to ULT and joined the queue to get into the lecture room. *phew* thank God i got there on time! in fact, a few minutes earlier. the test itself was alright, but it's pretty shocking how the short answer questions were all from ONE lecturer...i was hoping a lab question will come up. the MCQ were ok..though a bit confusing. gotta read them over and over again to get it. hopefully i'll do ok.

work tmr. got daddle a muffin since he put me on the early as i requested :) and i promised to make him brownies, since he missed out on the ones i made last week. to quote him "It will take more than brownies!!!!!!!!Cookies, muffing and you can do Gaz a fav!!! Find out who jimmy is staying out all hours with!!!!!!Iv got the early on Sat too"

i'm glad i took my sisters to swimming today as a breakaway from studying. had such a good laugh in the office with my colleagues and brendan showed me this borat-baywatch-video. man, we were cracking up in the office like a bunch of potheads on high. the parents in the lap pool must've looked at us and thought "gosh i'm glad my kids can swim! cant trust 'em lifeguards!"

what an interesting day i had..okay, maybe it wasnt THAT interesting afterall, now that i think about it.

day started off with me going to uni, had 463 grp meeting, then i did my 211 assgt, handed in assgt and essay, then caught the ferry home since there wasn't 204 lecture. met a swimming instructor on the ferry, said hi to him, but he looked so blur, so i said "cant recognise me?" and he said "no" so i told him i'm a lifeguard. and he went "OH OH OH!!!!!!!". gosh, i dont think i look that different at work and at uni!!! almost no one can recognise me out of that pool! came home, found out that my dad sent out my package...and i havent attached any stamps on it. yes, trust my dad to be so blur...so now i dont know what will happen to my package!!!

bummed around a little, then headed off to work. talked to jimmy for a bit, and he went around telling my colleagues that i was upset because he didnt turn up for our date on sunday -.-" 'date'. funny dude, but kath said i should make him pay back, since his excuse was so lame "i was doing my laundry!" so yesh, i reckon i should make him pay back :D btw, this whole date thing is a joke ok!

then i went up to aunty D, and she said "beware! someone's trying to pick you up!!" and i said "who? that guy who was talking to you before?" and she said "no...his son!" and immediately, i know who she's talking about. i didnt know that old dude's his dad. but anyway, the whole evening, aunty D kept teasing me about it. and that boy (whatever his name is) kept trying to talk to me.

and his dad's a good sport. i had to blow my whistle coz 2 kids were throwing a ball around, and it hit a little baby. when i blew my whistle, the dad said to his son "hey! she's calling for you! hurry up and go talk to her!" and i just smiled at them. later on, when they were about to go, they came out of the sauna and the dad came close to me with his son and said "just go get her number now so we can go!"

so that boy's apparently 18. and he was trying to find information if i am single or not. i think that's why his dad was talking to aunty D. so aunty D suggested that i get trent darling to be my bf :D HAHAHAHAH~ coz apparently, the boy doesnt like trent..something or rather. PERFECT, this is just PERFECT :D i reckon the boy will be back on saturday, but i dont think i'll see him coz i'm doing the opening shift (thank you dadddleee! love ya looonnnnggg time!). but the next time when trent darling and i are on, i'll whip up a plan.

i think my 'young' look is attracting the wrong age groups - i seem to be attracting young boys *rolls eyes* or old pervert uncles! not good -.-" those who are around my age almost never notice me!! not fair *pffft! or even if they do, they're not my type

but oh well, i had a really nice day nonetheless. aunty D said "lookout! your father in law's gonna splash you with water!" coz the boy's dad was in the pool, and he cupped some water in his hands and splashed me. but i didnt mind coz i was wearing my jandals.

and that basically sums up my day. oh, i caught this fat-ish guy looking at me everytime i look in his direction. but he's so FAT -.-" maybe he's like, 2 times my weight or something *rofl*

what a day to say 'phew' and wipe the sweat off my forehead!

first 'phew' of the day: i finally stepped onto the weighing scale today, and a big shocker it was! i gained 2 kgs, and the 'phew' is because i didnt pass out :p i'm 0.9kg over my "limit". *dies* and i thought i've lost weight, coz well, my boobies feel like, they dont quite fit my bra properly anymore *cries* and my upper abdomen seems to be more toned. there's a hint of abs showing if i breathe in a little. SO WHY THE WEIGHT GAIN?! this is an absolute shocker -.-"

second 'phew' of the day: i ran up and down the stairs. i covered 10 floors up, and 10 floors down. i RAN alright. i wasn't parading on the stairs. i was actually huffing and puffing at the end of 16 floors -.-" and i couldnt feel my legs after that, so i slowed down a little..didnt want to risk rolling down the stairs :p

third 'phew' of the day: not really phew, but more like WHOA! trent darling finished all the brownies i brought to work, and it was A LOT ok. i dont get how people can eat SO much rubbish and yet stay so skinny *sigh*

fourth 'phew' of the day: i was on duty in the party pool, and i was talking to one of the dad's there. then this round blow-up boat went over a little kid right in front of us, and i took a step forward to push off the boat, but couldnt quite do it, but when i was about to stand up to jump in, the dad jumped in first. which was good, coz he was wet already anyways!

fifth 'phew' of the day: i was on duty in the kids pool and the leisure pool, watching half of each pool with my colleague. i was standing outside the kids pool, where the railings are. this little indian baby was in her little floaty, and she was playing with her sister and then she leaned too much forward and toppled over. i climbed through the railings (the fastest i've done in my life!!!!) and ran a little, and was a step away from getting into the water when her parents got hold of her. again, her parents (or maybe grandparents?) were right beside her, so they reacted faster than me :p gosh, i didnt know my short legs allowed me to climb over those railings so quickly! HAHA!

sixth 'phew' of the day: this indian man was swimming in the lap pool, and all of a sudden, he started struggling -.-" thank goodness his friend was right beside him so he gave the indian man a hand to get to the side. funny thing was, i saw the indian man swimming before that, and he did just fine...i guess he just ran out of breath. coz well, he wasnt exactly breathing properly when doing freestyle..

seventh 'phew' of the day: the special kids came in at 6.45, and we had to put the lane ropes out. sade was in the party pool cleaning up, trent was out in the office counting the money (i think?) and i just finished cleaning the lap pool, and when i walked into the leisure pool, i got called to do the lane ropes. and I HATE doing them coz they're so difficult! i had to put up 2 lane ropes by myself, with a little help from 2 special kids...it was quite difficult trying to explain to them what to do, but they got it in the end....but it took a while. then when i was up to the third one, i was out of energy. thank goodness sade came out of the party pool and saw me doing it so i yelled to her to give me a hand and BOTH of us struggled doing it. blahh..now my right arm is SO weak!

what an interesting day it has been! oh yeah, this boy tried chatting me up. HAHAHAHA~ funny as, coz we were all aqua jogging last sunday, and he didnt know i worked there. so today, he came back with his friend, and said "OH! YOU! i didnt know you worked here!" and i just giggled, coz they're really funny guys. we had such a good laugh at them last week. then when i was cleaning the steam and sauna, he came over to talk to me and tried to dig info about me -.-" then he asked how old i am, which was pretty funny, coz i felt like saying "well, too old for you son!" but i played along with him. then he asked if the 2 little girls (my sisters) who were with me last week were my kids *sweat* and just before he left, he asked what days do i work *rofl* guess there'll be lots of laughters to come from now on.

righteo, i'm gonna finish off my assignment, and hit the sack later coz i'm SO tired!!!!

yesterday, we were watching this team practise canoe-polo in the leisure pool, then shenanigans (nickname) came over to talk to us after her workout, and they were saying something when i went to the toilet, and when i came back, i heard jimbo saying "i'd give you a cuddle, but burnz will probably kill me coz he's right up there at the gym". and shenanigans started laughing. then jimbo asked "amy, do you want a cuddle?" "nooo.....i'm fine thanks.." then silence...then jimbo said "see, i want a cuddle from amy, but i dont know how to ask!"

like, wth?! sorry, but i only give out free cuddles when i'm on a high or hyper or tipsy. this morning, R got cuddles. more like, he stole cuddles from me. but since i was hyper, it was ok. daddle's the champion. he just walks right up to me and gimme a bear cuddle. *suffocates in his fats*

today, i accomplished everything i wanted to do. i did my research for my essay, even started writing my essay but i'm still on my introduction (totally stuck with words, but i tried ok!), tidied my room a little (put some clothes away), went swimming and had a good dinner. after all of us have showered, we're gonna watch a dvd.

i did 30 minutes of swimming, 30 minutes of aqua jogging and spent about 15 minutes in the spa and mucked around a little. i feel good :D i worked out my arms while aqua jogging, but i kinda cheated while swimming coz i was using flippers the whole time.

speaking of flippers, guess what happened? this biatch from sw*mgym that NO ONE likes (and i mean NO ONE) was giving my shyte for taking flippers from their store room for my sisters. see, daddle told me that we could borrow their stuff when we go swimming and we've been doing that for a few times now..and i'm not the only one doing that - other lifeguards use their stuff too! but i guess it was just my luck today so she gave me shyte. that biatch was giving lessons and she saw me taking the flippers, then when she was done with her lessons, she walked up to me as we were gonna jump into the pool and said "you're not meant to use those flippers. they're not for public use. they're OUT (sw*mgym) property! *rolls eyes*" so i said "oh..i work here and darryl said we could borrow them....but sorry, i didnt know. i'll return them now.." and she just stormed off! what cheek she had!

in all fairness, i really didnt know that we were not allowed to use their stuff. i was told that we were allowed to use, so dont give me shyte ok? and i apologised nicely too, so dont be effing rude and just storm off like that when i'm still talking to you! like, hello, YOUR staff use OUR (pool) stuff too! they use our noodles and what not! and some even have the cheek to come to the poolside office and use our water cooler just so they can have cold water..but i dont mind!

what do you lose from letting us use the flippers? like, nothing right? geez...biatch. she, is one racist biatch i tell you. my mum used to have to deal with her when my sisters were taking swimming lessons there and she used to give my mum shyte too. NO RESPECT at all. and i've seen her teaching the kids, and she's freaking rude and mean to the asian kids, and blardey nice to the white kids.

if you cant tell that we're all humans, then effing piss off and go sort yourself out. come back when you can tell that we're all the same, and God made us all to be the same. no difference, except for our skin, hair and eye colour.

i really cant stand her. she thinks she effing own the place or something. sheesh! even brendan cant stand her..and he's white! she just likes giving everyone shyte. if you dont wanna lemme use the flippers, then at least have the courtesy to explain to me nicely...not just yell at me -.-"

anyway, the dinner and drinks party at stefan's was alright. i felt a tad out of place at first coz i didnt know many people, or rather, i wasnt really making the effort to mingle. i used up all my hyper-ness at work today :p so when i got there, i was pretty much a mush.

played singstar and gosh, i never knew ben could sing so well! LOL he could sing all the difficult songs and you'll just go WOW that kinda thing. it was all good, and it was nice seeing people i dont see very often :p but most of them were pretty much drunk by 10pm -.-"

anyway, at work today, me and sade (my "look!! HOT GUY!!" buddy) were checking out guys for the whole day. HEHEHE :D it's so funny when we're together, coz we do the stupidest things ever. sade likes to make it obvious that she's checking out guys. and today, she got totally slammed...

SHEESH!"

i seem to be bonding really well with my new full time workmates. they're both maori, but the guy's a really nice dude. he's a youth pastor out in otara, yo! and i get hugs from him everytime he comes in. ahaha~ so funny. you should look at his body man...like, all muskles and no fats. nice broad shoulders with narrow waist...mmmm....and he always sits around in the spa in his speedos! hey hey, i'm only doing my job as a lifeguard, looking out at everyone, making sure they're alright :p

oh and the new girl, gawd we had a good morning today! to quote her "gosh we're pampered with young hot guys today ayeee!" seriously, there was a stream of hot guys coming in, early this morning, and we were both standing around giggling and talking about the random-est stuff ever.

we were talking about tattoos right, then i said "ooh, if i get one, i'd like to have one just above my bum!" and she said in a really serious face "aye! that means you like it up your bum!" and my senior who happened to be there just started laughing really hard. dammit >"< style="font-weight: bold;">OH OH OH!! i forgotten to say this, but i saved not one, BUT TWO KIDS YESTERDAY! withoutt having to jump in. huzzah! i saw this kid struggling at the deep end of the pool coz i was standing quite close to her, so i got a swimmer to pull her to the side and i pulled her out of the pool and told her to go back to the shallow end. and then later in the afternoon, i saw this little boy whose elder brothers abandoned him and left him swimming towards the deep end of the pool. again, i got another swimmer to pull him up to the side, and i pulled him out of the pool, walked with him on the railing (thank God i didnt fall into the pool!) and told him to go into the kiddies pool where his mum was.

i really cant believe how ignorant parents are. they actually dare leave their kids who aren't strong or confident swimmers or even non-swimmers all by themselves in a big pool. it gets really bad when it's crowded coz there's just people everywhere you look and sometimes the kids are so little, you cant even see them. i really wish parents would be more responsible with their kids and not just assume that us lifeguards will look after them. we have over 100+ people to look after at any one time usually and when it's so busy, you cant really see what's going on in a big pool! if i was a parent, i will NOT let my kid outta my sight when they're around water and if they're non-swimmers, i will definately go into the pool with them. or at least keep them in the kiddies pool....

how would you feel if your mum comes up to you and say "you dont have that many friends..." when you're already feeling emo and stressed over a million things?

and not only that, when she says that, she probably means:

but the thing is, when you want to go out to socialise more, say go clubbing, the conversation goes something like that:

me: mum i wanna go clubbing with my workmates tonight
mum: that's not very Christian like..
me: but.......i wanna just hang out with them..
mum: very dangerous ar..so late and you'll be all by yourself when you come home
me: ugh..fine...
mum: good.

and if i want to go out at night, but not clubbing, the conversation is like this:

me: mum i'm going out tonight!
mum: oh where to? with who? what time? what time will you be home?
me: erm, just going out with my friends..around 10..dunno what time i'll be home
mum: aiya! so late only what to go out! all the bad things happen at night one you know..
me: yeah i know, but if everyone thinks like you, then no one'll be going out at night
mum: yeah, but what i'm trying to say is, dont go out so late la! dangerous!
me: oh..then ar..ok lor, i stay at home. dont go out....

and if i go out at a usual time, during the day, this is the conversation:

me: mum, i'm going out later..
mum: what you doing? where you going? with who?
me: erm, just going for a bit of shopping with friends..
mum: shopping again! very rich ar?! spend spend spend!!
me: but...i got work and i earn my own money ma!
mum: SO??? you spend a lot you know! keep going out only..petrol all those leh?!
me: erm.......fine la..dont go lor...

SEE! everything i want to do, she'll say something one! all also against it one. the only time she wont say anything is when i say i'm going to a friend's house. then now she start saying i dont have many friends. how to have friends when everytime i try to go out to socialise you stop me?

i'm so pissed and upset la i tell you. ruin my day only...

the 'long' awaited photos

my parents finally gave in to my request to go somewhere so i can experiment with my camera..truth be told, i just wanted to go somewhere..and to a certain extent, experiment with my camera, but i found out i only knew how to use the "automatic" settings on my camera yesterday. HAHAHAHA. still got a lot to learn!! maybe i should just go to eastern beach or bucklands beach for now since they're only 5 minutes walk away..

so yesterday morning, mum woke us all up and told us we were going to maraetai beach right after church, but my bro came over just before church and told my parents to go to waiuku (somewhere further in after pukekohe) instead since he knows some nice spots for me to take pics.

so we were off to waiuku after a yucky yumcha at KK restaurant....and i'll let the pics do the talking from here onwards. enjoy :p

this is the waitangi waterfall. it's a really small waterfall, but to quote my bro "HOW CAN A LOUSY WATERFALL SUDDENLY LOOK SO NICE IN A PICTURE?!?!?!! and that stupid guy and the other guy's head spoil a nice picture!"
the worst thing was, the guy with only the head in the pic was actually flexing his muscles (which are non-existent btw..he's a blob of fats!) when i took the pic. what an idiot!

i like this pic...it looks really nice and peaceful...but i think i'll die of boredom living in waiuku. to quote R "what the hell are you doing in that inbreed town?!" dont know what he meant by inbreed though...

on the way to where we were headed to, we saw this huge queue of cows heading home and they were all walking in a very nice line and obediently too! the herder (?) saw our car coming and so he stopped the cows to make way for us. i told my dad to stop the car in between the first queue of cows and the second queue, but my dad refused..so he drove further away and i yelled for him to stop and he did this time, but it was so far away...so i had to zoom. but i dont think this pic does any justice for how amazing it was to see all the cows marching home!


we were driving and driving and we came across this path and my dad basically kicked me out of the car to take this picture -.-" he was bossing me around to take pictures of EVERYTHING...so this pic is just to make him happy :p


so many trees! like in LOTR...and the trees all look weird, but i cant quite point out what's weird about them..

when i saw these, i started shrieking "MOOOOOOMMMMM!!! LOOOKKK!! LOOK LOOKKKK!!! LOOKIE! PINK FLUFFY STUFF!!! IT'S PINK!!! FLUFF FLUFF!" my mum looked at me like i'm some sort of 'tard and walked away leaving me jumping around in excitement. *sigh* i think i'm too cute for my mum's liking!

HAH! looking at this pic makes me go crazy. we had to bush walk through all these thorny and prickly bushes and they were so tricky to get past them! they're positioned in such a way that they're on alternate sides - like you take one step, and the prickly bush will be on your left and when you take the next step, it'll be on your right...so you cant really bend to each side too much else you'll get pricked. i got scratched all over my legs and my left ankle is like swelling up now and it's so itchy! and on top of that, i have scratch marks on both my legs!


here! this is the thorny and prickly bush...aka gorse, which is a huge problem in nz. i remember learning about it in 7th form biology!

and that's the end of it! it's almost 1.30am and i have to be at work at 9am..which means i have to be awake at 7.45am to get ready and have brekkie and everything. so that leaves me with 6 hrs 15 mins of sleep if i go to bed now. but i still have to read my book and Bible before sleeping. so that means i'll have less than 6 hours of sleep *groannn
