wow, it's already the end of 5th week in uni. 5 whole weeks just went past like that....quite shocking to be honest.

this whole week's been a crazy week i suppose. first of all, i've been super tired and no matter how much sleep i get, i'm still tired. i didnt even work as much this week as opposed to the other weeks where i've worked about 20 hours a week. on top of that, i am not up to date with my notes and i have been skipping quite a few lectures because of my tired-ness. it's really bad, and this whole skipping lectures thing is really getting into a habit.

TL rang me up today and said "ohh goody! i caught you in between lectures didnt i?" i gave him a copy of my timetable so he knows when i'm available and when i'm not, but when i said "oh..i'm actually almost home - i'm skipping some lectures today"

truth be told, i WAS going to go for ALL my lectures today even though i felt like crap. the rain ruined the whole thing, and micro lab was such a drag this morning with the whole computer simulation thing. so once i was done with that, i caught the free bus to queen st and walked to downtown. managed to get my hair extension fixed and got another one to balance things up. i was washing my hair last night and one of my hair extensions just fell out -.-"

apart from all those stuff, there are lots of things that goes on behind the scene - my family for example. i mean, nothing bad has happened, but lately, my mum's back to her whole pms/menopause behaviour again and it's really sickening. she give off this -ve vibe which i really hate because she comes home being all grumpy and it really affects my dad and myself in many ways. my dad will end up being grumpy as well, coz he'll try to help my mum in every possible way, and because of him doing more work, he starts complaining and tell us kids off. and when that happens, i get really pissed. why? because, i WILL do the stuff when i have the time - i cant just leave what i'm doing and do YOUR things just because you're my dad..it's so stressful >"<

and on top of that, i dont have THAT much free time. my week is basically something like that:
sunday: church in the morning, do something nice for the rest of the day like shopping or come home to rest and do some uni-related stuff.
monday: uni for the majority of the day, come home and do some uni-related stuff, and maybe some trademe stuff.
tuesday: uni, come home to rest for a while (take a quick nap before work) and off to work from 5 and i'll be home just before 10. have dinner, shower and it's almost bed time.
wednesday: uni, come home, prepare dinner, off to cg, and i'll be back after 10.
thurs: uni, come home, muck around for a little, dinner, take sis for swimming, and i'll be back around 9.15
friday: uni, come home, muck around and relax for the rest of the night.

you might think "oh geez she has plenty of time to relax and muck around" but do bear in mind that i have an on-going business on trademe which i have to keep up and spend some time on almost everyday (except weekends). it can be quite time consuming, but where else is my money going to come from? i cant work anymore than i already am....

so yeah, that's my life in a nutshell. i'm actually thinking of working 7 days a week during the easter break coz mance asked if i'm interested in teaching swimming at her workplace. i'm still considering it, but i'm thinking probably not coz i still have assignments and test to study for during the break, though i would REALLY like to teach swimming.

oh well...

this is such a -ve post. life goes on...

ugh i hate people who cannot txt with proper words. you know how like, some people's spelling are absolutely horrijible and they try to cut down on alphabets? i always have to end up reading a txt twice at least.

ginga's still the best at txting coz he uses proper english. he was complaining the other day about someone txting him saying "i cnt mke it 2day coz im goin to da drz" LOL!!! what a straight white boy!

but R's txts are worse than that >"< cant even understand what he's trying to say sometimes. anyway, we both know where we stand now, with him being my senior and all, and us working at the same place, it's just not on. but to quote him "....wait till i get my new job!!!! HEHEHE"

earlier on, when the pool complex was still open, R gave me a nice big hug from the back and wrote "hey love =) *draws heart*" on my hand. gee, i wonder what the swimmers were thinking -.-" i think some people are already having the impression that we're together *sigh* especially Sophia who well......was firing daggers outta her eyes on Sunday when she saw R hugging me.

pffft!

and R's been txting me non-stop since 9.45pm. hmm, one hour already -.-" he's one big flirt!

anyway, all those stuff aside, after work, i was driving home, and i saw a group of people gathered around bucklands beach road, so i slowed down a little, and saw something the size of a little child lying on the ground. i kept driving, not knowing what to do, but somehow, my brain managed to say "amy, you're a certified first aider..go have a look what's going on" so i made a turn at the round-about and drove back. i parked my car and got out to see what was going on, and i found a dog lying on the ground, covered with towels. so i asked the people what happened and they said a car ran over the dog and fled.

since it was a dog, i couldnt do anything. so i txt-ed R coz he txt-ed me just before ithat, and told him what happened - his dad being a paramedic, i kinda thought he'd know what to do. R told me to ring SPCA ambulance, so i told the people there, but there was a guy who was on the phone already, giving all the details. then R told me to give the dog CPR -.-" it's not like the dog needed CPR, BUT even if it did, i wouldnt even know where to do the chest compression! and my CPR face shield will NOT be suitable for a dog! so yeah, i waited around for about 15 minutes, checked the dog's tags and etc, coz the ownder wasn't there.

but all of a sudden, this girl said her mate has a dog that looks just like that. seconds later, the girl and a guy came running back, and the guy started going "oh i'm so sorry...i'm sooo sorrrrryyyy..." and i think he was sobbing too. poor guy :( and poor dog >"< i wish i could've done something, but i really dont know any first aid for dogs!!! if it was human, then yes, i would've helped, even if i had to do CPR.

felt kinda bad, but all the guys started smoking there (probably coz of the stress) and i couldnt really take the smoke, so i left..but the ambulance wasn't even there yet! so slow >"< but i think they were coming from mangere..so yeah...

AHH! finally! toodles!

so....................................

A told me that R's got the hots for me. and that was yesterday. then today, i was working with R coz someone was sick, so R got called in. he was obviously really unhappy about that coz he was gonna spend the day with his pop, but uhh, i cant close by myself!

so well, R came in, and threw tantrums all over the place (except at me, coz i made him smile! hehe) and no one wanted to talk to him. so when he called me over to tell me something, i stayed at the same spot to keep talking to him and made him feel better. so after that he was behaving himself.

so it was just 2 of us after 7, then when we were done cleaning everything up, we walked out to lock the gates, and he played 'eye of the tiger' on his phone. so we started talking about that song, and then he started talking about rocky balboa. i told him i havent seen it, and all of a sudden he said "ok! set! we'll have a rocky balboa weekend..just you and me. and we'll have some drinks and games.......yup. just you and me. ok amy?"

and i was like "emmm........heh......"

kinda weird..the attraction is there la....but then, well, it's just awkward if you start dating someone who's your colleague. i mean, what if things dont turn out well after a while? no doubt it'll be super difficult to go to work and etc...

but oh well, i'm not gonna think too far ahead :p

btw, work was really enjoyable today :D

what a day!

i had quite a nice day today :) i took the day off uni again, because well, i dont think i can actually concentrate in class while coughing ever minute or so, and it was also a real pain in the bottom trying to hold back my cough in class just so i dont distract the other people. so yes, a day to rest for me, which was much needed.

i started the day by taking a short trip to the spa & steam at work - that worked wonders. i wore my glasses because i dont like how my contact lenses gets all dry when i'm in the steam, but the annoying thing was, my glasses kept fogging up when i was done -.-" but it was all worth it! my nose is clear (no more blocked nose!) and my cough is somewhat better. i think breathing in all the steam for a good 5 minutes did the trick, and soaking myself in 39.7C water for 15mins definately helped!

so after that nice relaxing soak, i put my clothes back on (..not that i was skinny dipping before!) and went to look for my darling team leader. he got me my shoes (SO prettttyyy!) and we started chatting at the reception for a while. the whole time, i kept taking my glasses off and putting them back on coz they kept fogging. then i said "gah! my glasses keep fogging up!" to which he replied "that's coz you're standing next to me!" which i then said "ha ha ha...very funny....ha..."

but lame jokes aside, he signed me off to have saturday off (yes! GDO '07 here we come!!) and i'll be doing the 6 hours shift on sunday, which is pretty good i suppose~ at least i'll have more than half the weekend off, and i still get to do everything i want to do, mainly GDO and church...still thinking about the foam party, but i'm leaning towards a "no". i do not fancy getting wet and feelig icky for half the night. what with my cough, i really dont think so...

okay, back to talking about my day. i notice that i'm really good at side tracking......i picked stefan up at 12, and we lunched at daikoku (thanks for lunch stefan!), which was super yummy! then we headed to noel leeming for me to redeem my webcam and we went to say hi to logie&mike at harvey norman. we stayed at harvey for a while, looking at all these cool&nerdy gadgets and then we left.

i drove to bucklands beach and pulled up beside this one car parked on the wharf because we thought there were some action going on...turned out there was this middle aged guy, looking very sad and he was all by himself. he left not long after we arrived, probably because we looked too happy for him or maybe we disrupted his thoughts -.-"

then it got too hot, so we drove away and took a short drive along eastern beach and then came to my place, where stefan helped me with my ethernet fixing problem. it's all sorted, but now i have to work out how to set up a network for both modems to work together. anyone know how? please? lunch on me if you help me fix it!

after fixing that, we went for bubble tea at rio then i dropped him off at work. it's really funny how everyime, after hanging out with a friend whom i haven't seen or talked for a long time, i get this melancholic kinda feeling, and i get reminded so much of the time when i first arrived in nz. the difficulties settling down, the fear of not having any friends and all the cultural differences. then i'll be swimming in my memories of high school, and the funny thing is, everytime i see andre at work, i get reminded of high school times. and i think i give the same effect to him as well, because everytime we get the chance to talk at work or during our breaks, we'll be talking about high school.

taking a step back from tech..

yup. i've gone backwards. i'm back on wires! well, my laptop that is..not me.

since wireless sucks-arse, and it's like super slow, i decided to ditch wireless and ended up purchasing another modem so i can hook my laptop up in my room. i can still use wireless, but that'll be downstairs only. think i'll remove the wireless router and sell it on trademe.

so i'm doing my microbio notes now like a good girl :) i'm finally able to download some notes within a short period of time! w00t!

took half a day off uni again today. attended 1/2 of microbio lecture before dad buzzed me, so i walked out the lecture hall and ran to dad's car and went home. ahh....so nice to get picked up when i'm sick :D

head was spinning when i got out of the ferry this morning. the crazy aucks weather

woke up craving for pancakes/ waffles/ crepes. i ended up making waffles since we havent used the waffle maker in ages. managed to find the recipe book for making waffles, but since i was only 1/4 awake, i skimmed through the ingredients without looking at the method. obviously i screwed up my first attempt! so i tried again, this time i did it by looking at the method, and well it turned out quite well :)

now i'm full and happy!

the wind's at full swing again -.-" i'm kinda hoping that the weather will hold up for the entire week, esp for the coming weekend since my sis and i are going for GDO. dont think we'll be having much fun is it starts pouring =.= oh well..

psst! since i'm bright and awake at this hour, and no one else is awake, i'll go whip up a plan to convince daddy dearest to get all of us a puppy :D maybe i can start by using really cute puppies as our desktop wallpaper *sniggers*

i think the funny thing is, dad's been using my newtoy MORE than i have. he seems to like my newtoy a lot, what with it being so user friendly and picture-perfect, dad LOVES it. the poor old nikon is just sitting in the cabinet now, not given any tasks :p the only time that nikon is used is when my family goes out without me.

so yes, i'll go grab my camera now since dad isn't using it, and i'll transfer 'em photos now, and put them up on a slide show so you can all see it. and i can also use the slideshow for bebo/ friendster :D

yesterday right, i was at my workplace coz my sis had swimming training. ginga was there working, so we chatted the hour away and we started talking about my slides, how i was sneezing away in the lab (and that i feel sorry for the next person using the microscope) and about this brain test that he took and we went through his results together (pretty interesting and accurate i must say!) and etc. then came 9pm, which means time to go home, so i told him "aight! see you on sat!" then he said "i'll see you tomorrow night! have you forgotten already?!" and i said "oh yeah! oops! i'll be here! byeee~"

BUT.....i rang him up today and told him i couldnt make it to meeting. this is the 2nd meeting they've had, since i started working. the previous one, i had my ear infection so i couldnt go. the thing is, everytime we have meeting, we'll have a short session of training too. i think the other people are starting to think that i'm avoiding meetings just because i dont wanna go for training...

but i REALLY wanted to go for meeting AND training today coz ginga said we'll be doing scenarios and we'll do a spinal injury scenario. and i really wanted to do that because i've forgotten how to do the vice grip and log roll!!!!

but yeah, i was SO sick coz i had running nose, sorethroat, cough and fever and i couldnt even stand long enough (ie: less than 5 minutes) before my little world starts spinning around. i slept the whole day (even turned my cellphone off so i wouldnt be woken up by txts) hoping that i'll be good enough to go for the meeting in the evening, but obviously i didnt get better. in fact, i felt worse

*sigh* and i told ginga that i cant make it to work tomorrow either. i dont think i'll be able to stand for 8 hours with my temperature. might fall straight into the pool and someone will have to save me. i feel reaaaallllyy bad. ginga's been so nice to me (oh, i got $2 pay rise! w00t w00t!!) and he even gave me the early shifts for ever saturday that i work.

i've got a tissue stuck up my right nostril, and my stomach is totally bloated with one container full of melon and 3 bowls of porridge.

now i feel much better. i almost passed out during 204 lab this morning..the only thing that kept me going were the lab demonstrators going "you've got a really good slide there!"

really happy that my slides all turned out well this morning. ahh, the perks of knowing what's going on :D and nowadays i can actually finish my lab early! when has that ever happen for 204?! only thing that holds me back is my lab partner....i'm not being mean or anything, but she's kinda...slow -.-"

this is what she does: she puts a few drops of water on her slide, then leave it to dry (!!!) then use the inoculating loop and take up A WHOLE COLONY and spread it over her slide -.-"

then she'll go do her staining and everything, and when it comes to viewing her slide under the microscope, she cant see anything...i think the demonstrators are SICK of telling her that her smears are all too thick..and i've told her to make her smears thinner too...but she doesnt wanna listen.

so in the end, she'll just take my slide and use it. and usually by the time she uses my slide, it would've had oil on it coz i would've seen it using the 100x (oil immersion) lens...and guess what? she'll take my slide right, and then she'll look at it with the 40x lens *dies* imagine all the oil on the 40x lens......................................

so yeah. i usually have to stop here and there and tell her to do this and etc.

i'll have to chant that everytime i have lab....oh well...

anyway, i'm gonna go sort out my $1000 worth of stock, and then go rest up if i have time, then go to rebel sports to choose my shoes :D

i got $80 shoe allowance for work :D which means....I GET TO GO SHOE SHOPPING...AGAIN! w000ttt! i've bought 2 pairs of shoes and a pair of sandals and a pair of jandals just in the last 2 weeks or so -.-"

BUT BUT BUT!!!!! $80 for SHOES!!! FOR FREE! FROM REBEL SPORTS! i'm gonna go get 'em shoes on thursday evening, and NYEHEHEHEHE :D i'm gonna get 'em white adidas sneakers that i've wanted for AGESS. so i can wear them to uni too when it rains.

i know it's gonna cost more than $80, but heck, i dont mind topping up whatever more :p fulltimers get $160 shoe allowance (that'll buy one heck of a good shoe!) but since i only do about 12 hours a week (minimum to get shoe allowance is 10 hours), i count myself lucky :D

i love my manager :D he came to talk to me just before he left for work, and he was telling me about the shoe allowance, and i started jumping around and clapping and going "YAYYY!"

'nuff said. not mommy cant complain that i'm buying MORE shoes :p the other day, she started nagging me about me and my shopping habits, and then dad interrupted her and said "why do you bother? she's not even spending our money! she earns her own money, let her buy whatever she wants! it's ok!" see how nice my dad is?! it only makes sense that i have my own freedom to spend the money that i earn. it's not like i go to my parents at the end of the day asking them for money, because i've ran out of money

because i can toss down yucky food while my parents are out sneakily :D and have leave my empty plate in the sink, leaving them to think that i've finished my food like a goody good girl :D

ahh..why didnt i have one of these when i was a kid? that way, i wouldn't have had to sit at the dinner table looking grimly at the pile of vegetables on my dinner plate. i could pocket a few veges and rush off to the kitchen and throw it down the waste master..it's not called "WASTE master" for nothing :p

am i brilliant or what? i'm almost always available when they're short of staff, and i'm always willing to help. but when TL said "you are brill. if i wasn't married" is JUST WRONG!! actually, i envy his family la. he's got 2 absolutely GORGEOUS kids and they're super-cute-can-die-dot-com and a very loving wife! so yeah, he should count himself lucky.

my TL must be one of the best person to work with. even though he's our team leader, he doesnt show that he's in control or anything, in face, he brings himself down to our level and do all the crappy things we have to do. in fact, he makes himself to crappier things than us (ie: scrubbing down the family changing rooms all by himself, and also cleaning up the toilets when one of them got stuck with poop and toilet paper). that is why i respect him...

and because of that, i do not mind returning him favours since he's been nothing but super nice to me - giving me the shifts that i ask for, and for being one that i can talk to without teasing me too much about it. more often than not, he offers excellent advise and seeing that he's only 24, i really respect him for his maturity and how his mind works - there's no doubt as to why he isn't our team leader :)

what a stinky start to my day -.-"

had to sit beside this big fat obese lady in the free bus this morning, and she stank *holds nose*

everytime she moves, i gagged. bleargh >"<

woahhh....what a weekend it was!

the weekend's already coming to an end (so quick!!) and i haven't even had any time for myself... :(

saturday was spent working the day away. i worked form 7-3.30, then i stayed a while after work to keep team leader company while he was doing his work. had a good time talking and fooling around with him then i asked him about this photo of his with a little boy that i saw on bebo. and that definitely got him talking. he then asked for my email addy so he could look me up on bebo. but i said "nah. you dont need it. i'll send you a msg later" then i ciao-ed.

mucked around for a little when i was home, then helped mum to cut her layer cake that she made. she made it to bring them to church, and she also fried some noodles to bring as well. i said "MUM! SO MUCH FOOD! you can FEED the army!!" but boy, was i wrong! the people at church were HUNGRY HUNGRY people!

after doing all that, it was time to shower and get ready. did some last minute preparation before leaving for church - like looking for the props and etc. went to church...and well...talked, ate, sat, performed, sat, drove, ate, sat. that basically sums up the whole of saturday night.

sunday was spent going to church in the morning, then stayed back for ron's baptism, then i went to the doc, and jacques followed -.-" hahahaha he must've been super bored while waiting. then we left, he went home (i think..) and i went to highland park to get some food to bring to uni tomorrow. came home, got changed then i was out again, this time with my family.

mum decided to go for the lantern fest (only because daddy and i were really keen to go!) so dad drove us all there. managed to get a parking (lady luck was with ME!!) at len's secret parking spot. hahahhaha~ so we took a short walk up, and began our hunt for good food :"D saw so many people there - the first one being ben who stood about 2m away from the 'ka-pai mussels' stall, and stared at them. lol, he must've been thinking "mmmm...to buy, or not to buy..." so i popped by to say hi to him, then disappeared into the crowd to continue with our hunt for food.

bought my first item - taiwanese sausages. think we bought 4 in total, and mum bought some other stuff. then we saw stefan, paul and theresa, so we stopped to talk a while, stefan was talking to my parents and sisters and yaddayaddayadda, then we walked a few more steps, and we bumped into amos and friend. popped by a few more stalls, and we finally made our way to the umsa stall. bought like, $15 worth of fishballs (i had $5 worth :p) from the ocf gang, and i think mum spent about $16 at the umsa stall on satays and teh tarik (literally translated at "pulled tea"). and then we were full.

so we went to walk around the park, and during all that time, i had my chunky camera hung around my neck looking very tourist-y. heehhee. and i was snapping away at everything - the deco, the crowd, the people, the stalls, yaddayadda. i either looked tourist-y, or like an amateur photographer. *rofl*

but the lantern fest this year was quite good - well compared to the one i went to about 3 years ago, there's been some MAJOR improvements :)

and there goes my weekend! i haven't even caught up with my sleep. and i haven't even blogged about my birthday dinner. will post up some pics when i get the time.

class starts at 1pm today, and i came in at 11. smart arse :p but that's what i'll be doing for the whole semester, so hopefully i wont be lazy. the 2 hours is for me to well, do my notes and study and erm, go online like that i'm doing right now :p i'm trying to use all my breaks to do my notes so i will be updated with my notes throughout the semester...

....but it's only the end of the first week of uni. and i dont know if i can keep up with this for the whole semester, BUT, if i can, i will buy myself something :p like...a new laptop or something. since the current laptop that i have is like, SUPER DUPER SLOW -.-" i hardly touch my laptop now, unless when i have to *sigh*

random: i think i saw ryo (kenji's bro) today on the ferry. i've only met him once at the pool but he had a different hairstyle then. he had long-ish hair with blonde streaks, but when i saw him today, he had like, red hair with a fringe. but he is a hair stylist, so i'm not surprised if he changes he hairstyle every week or so. but yes, i'll ask kenji what is his bro's current hairstyle when i see him.

see the story with ryo goes something like that. one evening, i took my sisters for their hpk swimming and my team leader happened to be there. just before i left, he told me "oh wait! i have a card for you!!" i was thinking to myself "ooh, must be a card from one of the students i teach *beams*" but anyway, team leader came out and handed me a small-as card, and i read it. it says 'ryo blablabla' so i asked him what is it for.

TL: oh, ryo came in one day, and he told me to give it to you!
me: HUH? ME? i dont even know him! who's he?
TL: oh, he's kenji's bro and he's a hair stylist
me: erm, so?
TL: well, someone told him that there's a hot asian chick working as a life guard here. so it's either you or sophia!
me: emmm...i'm pretty sure it's sophia and not me. *cracks up*
TL: *cracks up* well, whatever. i've told sophia and here's your card. oh, and ryo's gonna come see you when you're on the late.
me: right.... *chucks card away*

HEHEHEHE. funny things that goes on at the pools eh. but which lifeguard can be hot, when they're wearing yucky ugly uniform and always sweaty? -.-" that person who told ryo that there's a hot asian chica must be blind or he was swimming without his contact lenses/ glasses :p
