i'll be teaching swimming tomorrow to a group of special people. how special they are, i really dont know, but i know they're adults and they're from East Gate.
now, i haven't really interacted with special people before, but i know some of them are really friendly. take Luke for example - he's a volunteer cleaner at the facility that i work at, and he's really friendly. he's got down syndrome, but that doesn't stop him from speaking to us lifeguards and the other staff members. he works really hard even though he's only a volunteer. he's got a really good sense of humour too ;) the only time i feel sorry for him is when some young kids or teenagers pick on him. usually when i see this happening, i'll walk up close to him and then give my super evil stare to those kids and the kids will usually go away.
so, tomorrow, apparently these special people do not concentrate much, but that's alright - i am a very patient person (and i will repeat that 10000000x) and i've dealt with autistic children before, so it shouldn't be TOO bad. BUT, i have to take them for 30 minutes, and in that time frame, i''m supposed to teach them a wee bit of swimming, and play games with them. i DO NOT know what games to play with them
i've tried google-ing for some pool games, but so far i've only come across one that is simple enough to be carried out, and i hope we'll have a ball at the pool (..since my sis refuse to lemme borrow hers! pffft!).
back to google-ing so that i can sort this out and then go watch prison break *drools at michael schofield*
